Cryptomeria japonica 'Golden Promise' is an exciting newer selection of Japanese cedar. Its structure is very similar to Vilmoriniana with a notable difference. In spring the fresh push of new growth is bright yellow, maturing to a rich gold.
Growing 3-5" per year, this dwarf conifer has a coarse texture with its bright yellow foliage covering its small globe shape. An excellent choice for the rock garden or in a container on the patio, 'Golden Promise' will provide a colorful accent throughout the seasons.
