A variation of the Fuyu persimmon, the Jiro Asian Persimmon is prized for it delicious flavor and attractive form. Some have likened the sweetness of the crisp fruits to a cantaloupe. The Jiro persimmon has a beautiful deep orange skin that is firm and juicy. Jiro has great flavor and is a high quality fruit. It has crunchy, sweet fruit that eats almost like an apple right off the tree. Heat-tolerant. The Jiro persimmon tree grows to 20 feet in height and ripens mid to late October.

Self-fertile. (Persimmons can be planted with just one variety but you will increase fruit yields by planting two different varieties.) Begins producing fruit at 3 years
