Fuji Apple
Malus domestica 'Fuji'
Phonetic Spelling: MAY-lus doh-MESS-tik-a
Is your mouth watering? Fuji apples are one of the best homegrown apples and used as a culinary or dessert cultivar. The tree's flowers attract bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. The fruit is medium-sized, with a striking orange-red blush, and the taste has a balanced flavor between tartness and sweetness.
Fuji requires pollination by a tree of another variety with the same bloom period, such as Braeburn, Golden Delicious, or Red Delicious. Apple trees should be pruned every year to get the best crop.
