Chionanthus virginicus 'Spring Fleecing'
Tarheel Native Trees in Clayton, North Carolina selected this male variety for its profuse flowering, great form, and dark, waxy green leaves. Male fringe trees have somewhat larger flowers than females and put on a showier display. The species is native south of our area, from New Jersey to Missouri south to Texas and Florida.
