The Winter Red variety offers the must fruit of any other Winterberry shrub, and draws birds in winter and early spring. This is a female plant, and needs a male pollinator to produce these berries, such as a 'Southern Gentleman' or 'Apollo'. The best part about this shrub is that it is a Native to Eastern North America! You can plant these in mixed shrub borders, hedges, foundation plantings, or keep it as a specimen. This is an excellent shrub for wet soils, bog gardens, rain gardens, or along streams and ponds.

Maximum growth: The shrub grows in an upright-rounded habit up to 6'-8' tall and wide.
