Snowflake Double Oakleaf Hydrangea
Multi-Season Charmer
These flowers are stunning, the double blooms produce incredibly petal-packed clusters in delicate hues of blush, mint green and white. They're so darling, you'll be tempted to take them for rustic-chic bouquets and dried arrangements! Snowflake is relatively low-maintenance in the first year, and even less demanding as it establishes itself in the garden. However, possibly the greatest benefit of oakleaf hydrangeas is that the foliage makes a statement too. These leaves arrive first in spring, and after the flower show, they turn beautiful shades of red, joining with other fiery fall foliage to make your garden festive through autumn. Leave some blooms to dry on the plant and they'll create nice winter interest, too. It's a great shrub for multi-season interest and perennializing in mass plantings, informal hedges and woodland borders. Or put it in a large container on your patio that you won't have to replace with a new plant each season.
